Behind the scenes b

I love being out in nature! Whether its going for a hike, or sitting in the grass under a tree taking a break from the business of day to day life. When I’ve been sitting for a while I notice things happening around me: Lots of things, small things, in the grass, on the bark of the tree, on the leaves and in the soil. And when I look closer I discover amazing details in nature that I’m inspired to photograph, including the tiniest of creatures and plants with details not visible to the naked eye.

I’ve been working with macro photography for quite a while now, and I love the fascinating details I can capture in nature. More recently I had the idea to create some special collections for the Cardano NFT community, as a way to combine my passions – Nature, photography and Cardano.

The photos below show a few shots with water droplets on a leaf, petal and feathers. A closer look reveals the Cardano logo, which is created by the reflection of the logo on the flash diffuser of my camera setup. In the photo, the reflected logo is most visible on the shiny objects that are in focus.

The photos below show the equipment I use for my macro photography. The camera body I am using is a Sony A7 III – a very compact full-frame mirrorless camera. I love the Sony A7 range and it’s a great camera for a variety of situations.

The lens is a Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2:1 Ultra Macro. It’s a fully manual lens with up to 2x magnification. This means it can project an object onto the camera sensor to twice it’s size.

Lighting is a very important aspect in macro photography. I use a third party flash, the Godox V860 II. It’s well made and has lots of power. The thing I like best about it is the rechargeable LiIon battery which lasts for a long time.

Together with the flash goes a DIY flash defuser that sits on the lens. This focuses the flash light onto the object and creates soft shadows and an evenly lit scene. It also adds some special magic to the photo – the Cardano logo, which is seen as a unique reflection on shiny surfaces like water drops and other reflective surfaces.

I hope you enjoy my macro photos as much as I like taking them. You might even love them so much you want to mint one as an NFT and in that way also support the charity donations I do through ECO Pool. I would be stoked if you did!

Check out my Cardano stake pool ECO Pool and please consider delegating some ADA to support my mission of making the world a better place.
